EgeTrans welcomes delegation from Marbach's twin city Tongling

The city of Marbach has maintained friendly relations with the Chinese city of Tongling since the early 1990s. In 2005, an official twin city partnership was established with this metropolis, which is located about 350 km west of Shanghai on the southeastern bank of the Yangtze River.

On April 9, 2025, a 9-member delegation from Tongling made a stop in Marbach. In addition to the mayor of Tongling, other senior city officials were part of the delegation, which was traveling through Europe with stops in cities such as Berlin, Paris, and Lyon. In Marbach, in addition to visiting the city’s well-known landmarks, the delegation also visited the logistics provider EgeTrans, which, besides its transatlantic business, maintains important business relationships in Asia, particularly with the markets in China and India.

After a warm welcome by EgeTrans employees Christian Daiber and Heiko Schaal, the guests were treated to lunch at the company’s restaurant ATR/UM. Following the meal, Christian Daiber presented the range of services offered by EgeTrans, which, in addition to core competencies in sea and air freight, also includes land transport, warehousing, and customs services.

The visit was rounded off with a tour of the building, where the delegation had the opportunity to see the office spaces and experience firsthand how modern logistics services are provided. On the building's rooftop terrace, the guests were also able to enjoy a view of the adjacent new building and the Neckar River, which, while not nearly as long and impressive as the Yangtze – the longest river in Asia at 6,380 km – was still quite picturesque on a beautiful spring day.

It was both an honor and a pleasure to welcome the guests from China as well as representatives from the Marbach city administration to our headquarters.
